I hadn't realised just how bad the weather had been further up the Country until I saw the news. I mean, we've had stair-rods rain since the weekend but no flood damage round here that I know of, some of those poor people, evacuated and so much mess back in their homes it will take ages to get back to normal. My thoughts are with everyone concerned and I can't pretend I'm not just a bit grateful we live in the South of England, we've been so lucky. A short power cut the other evening following bad thunder and lightening but that's been it.
No further health problems afoot in our household. Toby had a bad tumble and had a huge golf ball sized bump on his forehead, but then he's a toddler and of course he's a BOY!! I said to L, don't worry there'll be many more of those to come. I still can't believe M got through his younger years without a serious trip to A&E with something hanging off, in the end a small finger was all that had to be stitched during his childhood, absolutely amazing, especially considering he tried bungi jumping from his tree house minus the bungi rope!! Just had a length of twine round his right ankle as I recall! That was one near miss
. I think we've forgotten just how resilient kiddies are, they tend to be wrapped in cotton wool these days and look so squeaky clean in their designer togs. Give me a good old Mothercare wash 'n wear set of stretch dungarees any day, got muddy, who cared, in the machine, out again dry in no time, children were worn out before they were!
End of my days off, but have done loads and loads of ironing so we're all sorted for the next few days. Got the rest of the week interviewing so should be well and truly brain dead by Friday. Never mind, onwards and upwards.
